Hi Percy
I am from Dinas Powys near Cardiff but have been living here near Düsseldorf for many years.I do not speak Welsh to my shame.
Like to hear from a fellow countryman

Hallo Percy!!!
We were probably on the same boat 25 years ago!!! My Welsh unfortunately is worse than my German!! Sentimentality and home-sickness are not exactly my thing but a convenial chat with another Taffy would my laugh muscles a power of good. Born as jubilee... (second world war and not the fist one!!) ...child in the deepest of Welsh valley´s (the Rhymney) ... completed my studies and then took over the world via Africa, Middle-East and finally occupied the Bundesrepublik Krautland .... and feel happy with my decision.
Pre-occupied myself in pseudo-lecturing and missionary healing work with the heathens (not the English!!)...... Does the name per-chance "Clive Duncan Edwards" ring a Swansea bell???... a great guy from your corner of the world, must be around 70y.o.a. would love to catch up with him. Have tried several times unsuccessfully to locate him. He studied graphic design at Newport back in the middle-sixties ... played a mean game at scrumhalf, had hair growth that would make an orangoutang envious and was the prime reason for his popularity with the girls!! He was so generous as occassionally to leave me the scraps!! It wasn`t easy for a valley-boy in those days!! You big-town boys had all the advantages.... running water, electricity, Brillcream Old Spice and charm..... Clive was an excellent mentor!! We met up again in London were we shared a room together for a few months, before I set off to rule the world. ..... My present abode is in the wine-fields of the Südliche Weinstrasse (Landau) ... reminds me of home sic. Forests, castles, varied interlectual cultural offers but not one bloody rugby-field for miles (Heidelberg).....miss a good game, having played myself and experienced the magic, on and off the field.....OK my time has run out..... would be pleasant to hear from you ..... drop me a goal!!
